Some of our favourite places

Aldeburgh Beach

Many great pubs, restaurants and hotels.

Try an Adnams Broadside at the Cross Keys, have a superb meal at Regatta (look out for their gourmet nights).

The high street boasts good shops and cafes.

Daniel Defoe wrote about Aldeburgh in his 1742 book entitled A tour thro' the whole Island of Great Britain, by a gentleman
"About three miles from Orford, is Aldeburgh, a town pleasantly situated in a Valley. It has two streets, each near a mile long; but its breadth, which was more considerable formerly, is not portionable, and the sea has of late years swallowed up one whole street. "

Doges Palace

"Perhaps Turner captured its essence best. Elusive, floating, enigmatic, Venice rides in a misty middle distance of muted colours and sounds, a dreamlike place that defies definition and beggars description." - The Lonely Planet - City guide.

Dodge the queue for the Doge's Palace book a timed tour such as Secret Itineries.

Skip the queue at St. Marks here.

We stayed at La Bisaccia hotel in Baia Sardinia.

It was an outstanding holiday, no problems, great food and superb service.

The north eastern part of Sardinia is (currently) unspoilt and with relatively little to do it's great for a relaxing laid-back holiday.
